The local-software AI wedge, and why every market has one

Every country has a dominant local accounting or POS vendor that ships no AI layer on top. That vendor is the wedge. The same content shape wins in every market — we just have to find the right partner to write it.

The phrase "AI for business" is owned by companies with bigger war chests than ours. Microsoft, Salesforce, Glean, Sierra, Dust. We do not fight that SERP. The wedge is somewhere else.

What the wedge actually is

In every market we have looked at, there is a dominant local accounting or POS vendor that ships no AI layer on top. In Malaysia it is SQL Account, AutoCount, Bukku, StoreHub, FeedMe. In Vietnam it is MISA, Fast, iPOS. In Indonesia it is Accurate, Jurnal, Jago. The list is long and the shape is identical: a vendor with a large installed base, no public API, and a category of customer who would love an AI assistant on top of it but cannot get one from the vendor itself.

That is the wedge. The vendor will not ship the AI layer — their product is the ledger, the receipt printer, the stock count. An assistant that reads all of those at once is a different product category. A plugin that does it is the modern version of the same wedge the company we are descended from proved in Malaysia's visitor-management market.

Why the same content wins everywhere

Because the buyer journey is the same. A business owner who runs their shop on MISA in Hanoi is asking Google the same question a business owner who runs their shop on SQL Account in Petaling Jaya is asking: "can I add an AI to MISA?" The vendor's name changes; the long-tail keyword does not.

That means the content shape is portable. One pillar page per vendor ("MISA + minidesk") plus three cluster posts ("MISA AI," "MISA WhatsApp," "is MISA an ERP") wins the same search. The compliance hook changes per market — MISA VAT, e-Faktur, GST, LHDN — but the structure is identical.

How partnerships get us into the next 30 markets

We do not need an office in every market. We need a partner in every market — a local team that knows the local software, can build the local plugins, and can write the local content. The first 15 vendors are Malaysia; the next 10 are Singapore; the next 10 are Vietnam. The shape does not change. The names do.

We are based in Malaysia. We ship in English first. We expand into every region we can land a local partner in. The plugin model is the same shape in every country; the local software list is the partner's call.
